  • Amanda Alvather Isn't Sweet But Her Children Are: Amanda Alvather is charged with a double count of neglect of a dependent. When found by the authorities, the children were covered with feces and urine. She allegedly fed her children a diet of sugar water and watched them become emaciated. Her son (2) was neglected care and treatment for his Down's Syndrome, was hospitalized for dehydration, hyperglycemia, and neglect. Her 2 daughters showed signs of frostbite. It is alleged the children were often left at home alone while locked in the apartment with no heat and no food.
